A 34-year-old Moroccan singer, Wiam Dahmani, died on Sunday night of a heart attack.
The Dubai Media Office issued a statement regarding the death of the artist, stating that it 'did not take place in Dubai'.
They urged "journalists and social media users to verify information before publishing or posting it" online. The news of Dahmani's sudden death was a shock to the public, with prayers and condolences pouring in for the departed artist from all over social media channels.

Dahmani, a broadcaster, actress and singer, was born in August 22, 1983 in Kenitra, Morocco. She performed a number of songs, most notably "Ahlan wa Sahlan" and "Sejnawi". She also hosted several programmes that showcased Indian cinema.
She began her acting career in 2011 and was preparing to shoot a show for a Ramadan. The artist also worked in Pakistani films such as 'Hijrat' and 'Ishq Khuda', to name a few. Several colleagues of the late artist expressed their great shock and expressed condolences by publishing her pictures on their own social media accounts.
