Fariha Pervez is currently working on an album which is a tribute to renowned Ghazal singers and composers of the music industry. "Apnay Saaye" is the first from the batch and it is a tribute to the legendary singer Pervaiz Mehdi penned by Nisar Tareen Jazib. Music of Apnay Saaye has been produced by Ahsan Pervaiz Mehdi of the band Siege while the video has been directed by Saqib Siddiqui who has previously directed three of Fariha’s videos including the hit Tere Naina.
The basic concept revolves around suffering in different stages of life caused by none other than the ones who are most dear to us intentionally or unintentionally. Three different scenarios have been shown in the video with people belonging to different aspects of life.
When asked Fariha Pervez that what made her decide to produce a ghazal album she replied,”I have been paying tributes to the legends and renowned singers who really set the bases of our music industry and have always been requested to sing many of the ghazals in my live performances as well. This was one of the reasons I was moved towards making a ghazal album that people want to listen to these everlasting ghazals. Singers like Mehdi Hassan, Farida Khanum, Pervaiz Mehdi, Nayyara Noor, Mehnaz Begum and many more have given so much to the industry that made the Pakistan’s music industry the best in any form of music. This is my way of paying a tribute to them and I hope the listeners will like it.”
