Bollywood’s most celebrated event of the year–International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) has finally come to an end.
The Udta Punjab duo, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, won the award for the best actor in a leading role category, while Neerja won an award for the Best Film of the year. Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer, PINK also won quite a lot of awards, noteworthy being–Taapsee’s Woman of the Year Award, Best Director Award (Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury) and Movie of the Year Title.
Neha Dhupia
How it is that Dhupia manages to top one horrendous outift after another at almost each IIFA she attends is beyond us. Her outfit looked like a mismatched ball gown and that big black bow at the waist! Fashion police can never let you go with it.
Disha Patani
Disha Patani looked gorgeous in this Falguni & Shane Peacock creation that had just the right amount of glittering gold! Her elegant hairstyle, the embellished body chain and the nude make-up made this outfit one of the winners of the night (much like Patani!)
Richa Chadha
Richa Chadha chose to wear a green Sabyasachi ornate gown for the IIFA Awards 2017 on Saturday evening. Though we absolutely love Sabyasachi, there was something simply wrong with the tassel cape like thingy in the outfit. It made Richa look more like an inverted pyramid. While she chose to keep the make up subtle, it failed to balance out the disaster her outfit had already done. In fact, a dark lip colour, say maroon, would have looked better. Anyway, we would say a big NAY to the Sarabjit actress for her fashion choice.
Dia Mirza
Dia picked a printed Rocky S gown for the big award’s function. Her gown was an overdose of print and volume, which made the petite actress look unnecessarily broad and a little bulky. This was not the Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein actress’ best fashion outing. She could have definitely done better.
Kalki Koechlin
Kalki went for a complete disappointment this year. Her pink head to toe ruffles dress made her look drab and not fab. Sporting this Gucci number, Koechlin looked like a thinly sliced piece of Salmon, and while that may be delightful to eat — it is not what one should aspire to resemble.
Taapsee Pannu
Wearing this Steven Khalil dress, Taapsee Pannu showed up to this years IIFA awards resembling an exploded disco ball. Everything about this dress screams teenage party clothes — right from the tacky black fitted corset dress that Pannu is sporting underneath, to the excessive silver sequence and her over-the-top mane. sheer fabric sheath is too out of the sync dragging her entire look down.
Bipasha Basu
We have no words to describe this one of a kind fish-tail glittery gown of Bipasha. It looks horrible and we don't want to look at it again. Too much bling kills the look at times, Bipasha.
Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif channeled her inner Aishwarya Rai circa Cannes 2017 in this powder blue Ziad Nakad creation. While we got major déjà vu looking at Kaif don this ensemble, we couldn't help but appreciate her flawless beauty (as per usual).
Huma Qureshi
Huma Quershi opted for a coral gown. From her choice of dress to her make-up, nothing was striking.
Nargis Fakhri
Nargis Fakhri opted for a bold oxblood gown by Gauri & Nainika for the evening, but it was nothing extraordinary or IIFA worthy. Though the Rockstar actor looked lovely, we feel she could have done better.
Alia Bhatt
Styled by Ami Patel and making a dazzling display with a multicolored crystal detailed Zahair Murad voluminous ball gown, Alia Bhatt flaunted her alluring body and her perfectly cinched waist in this Spring Summer 2017 strapless couture gown. She looked priceless.
Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi was our second favourite of the night. She slipped into an embellished LaBourjoisie gown, which she paired with stunning Chopard earrings. She is a vision in red, we have to admit.
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput
The cute couple couldn't keep their hands off each other as they walked in together and owned the IIFA 2017 green carpet with their coy smiles, sparkling chemistry, and chic styles. Shahid Kapoor opted for a customized ensemble featuring a grey suit and a black shirt from Anju Madan skipping the tie and rounding up his look with glossy shoes. Mira Rajput shined on the green carpet with her stunning orange Swapnil Shinde gown with a fitted bodice and a delicate belt and a pleated skirt that billowed behind her dramatically.
Preity Zinta
Pretty Preity walked in with her good looking hubby, Gene Goodenough and was seen pulling off a classic black peplum gown by Gauri And Nainika. Preity Zinta steered clear of any jarring accessories with the exception of diamond danglers. Sporting a chic updo, she finished out the look with minimal makeup. That's the classiest outfit of the evening, we must admit.
Shilpa Shetty
There is a mixed opinion on Shilpa Shetty’s outfit, but we like it, if not love it. She wore a custom Monisha Jaising gown, and showed a bit of leg at the green carpet. The bling was in right amount. It was surely one of the stand-out appearances of the night.
Kanika Kapoor
Singer Kanika Kapoor looked beautiful in a dark green gown by Falguni & Shane Peacock. The off-shoulder fitted gown with a slit was perfect for the award night.
Tulsi Kumar
Tulsi Kumar who won the Best Female Playback Singer award for her soulful song in Airlift also looked stunning in a Sabyasachi lehenga. The floral, pastel shade corture from his Udaipur collection was simple yet elegant for the stary night.
