The Secret Garden collection launched by c is exhibiting at an exclusive and invitation only event at the Argentinean Embassy in Islamabad house 60, street1, F-6/3 on 27th and 28th September.
The exhibition was a special initiative taken by the Argentinean Ambassador H.E. Rodolfo Martin Saravia and his wife Mrs. Susana Martin Saravia to promote a very exclusive Pakistani art and handicraft that is made by several women from Chitral Community. This is not the first time that the Embassy of Argentine organizes such type of events and certainly will not be the last.
The first was an exhibition of paintings of the Late Artist Ghulam Rasul, after that there was an exhibition of Inlay Craft, a very rare and exclusive work on marble done by Farhana Asad and Meherunnisa Asad from Peshawar and today this work from Chitral.
“I am delighted at this initiative being taken by the Embassy and I am really looking forward to the event,” said Zainab Alam, co founder of Krizmah bags.
“We are taking our latest Secret Garden collection to Islamabad which is based on the idea of the Secret Garden inside each of us,” said Nadia Khan, the second owner of Krizmah.
The Argentinean Ambassador learnt about Krizmah during some of his visits to the North Chitral and Kalash Valley. About the exhibition, the Ambassador Rodolfo Martin Saravia said that “since my wife Susana and myself arrived to Pakistan eight years ago, we have been traveling heavily to North of Pakistan where we witnessed not only one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, but also the performance of small vibrant communities working and doing excellent handicrafts work, that preserves ancient traditions of that part of the world.”
In some of many visits of Chitral and Kalash Valley, we had a chance to see how womens from that community were doing embroidered works with beautiful natural colours . Later we learned about two young women also from that area Zainab Ul Mulk and Nadia Malik that organizes this community to create with these skills beautiful leather embroidered bags.
For that reason, we had the idea together with my wife to organize the exhibition of this work at the Argentine Embassy to show the diplomatic community and Islamabad society this beautiful art of Chitral.
