After the success of ‘City of Garden’s’ at Lakme Fashion Week, India, Zara Shahjahan showcased her brand’s bridal collection, ‘A Folk Tale’ on 1st October 2014 at PLBW 2014. This marked Zara Shahjahan’s 6th time at the prestigious PFDC platform and the second time that the brand presented its bridal collection. 

A Folk Tale” is an amalgamation of dramatic colors, oriental prints with heavy eastern embellishments and marks a significant departure from Zara Shahjahan’s past collections. The collection features 25 innovative designs set in a rich color palette of Indus inspired shades featuring saffron, black, red, fuchsia, pink and more. Expect a diverse range of luxe fabrics including raw silk, cotton net, tulle and jamawar embellished with rich traditional handiwork featuring naqshi, dabka, sitara, pearls, French knots, colored resham and mukesh. In addition to womenswear, the collection also features 5 accompanying menswear pieces. Indeed, the coveted Zara Shahjahan bridal ensembles demonstrate femininity, elegance, and beauty.

Speaking about her participation at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week, Zara Shahjahan said, “With ‘A Folk Tale’ we have taken the brand into uncharted territory with a new line of bridal ensembles that are classic with their Indus inspired dramatic colors yet very innovative in terms of silhouettes. The collection is a departure from  vintage florals and soft color palettes that have been synonymous with Zara Shahjahan and is an ode to the richness and glamour of Pakistani bridal ensembles.
